Richard Peter and Lottomatica Elecom Rome win 71:67
The second game in this year´s Champions-Cup preliminaries brought RSV Lahn-Dill´s first loss in an international tournament in two years.
It was a close game during all the four quarters and the scoring-lead changed all the time. It was Rome that came more consquent into the game but when RSV Lahn-Dill scored 16:11(6.) and during the second quarter lead by 28:23(15.) the fans from Hessen were confident that their team will be able to take control of the game. But not it was not very expected that Rome´s number 6, Amine Moukariq would have such a great day in offense: His three pointers brought a one point lead at halftime.
After the break the fans had to wait two minutes until Michael Paye scored Wetzlar´s first two points in the third quarter and after Rome was able to move away a little bit Steve Serio and Felix Schell´s free-throw brought a close 43:46(28.).
The game stayed intense on both sides of the court and over the close stations of 58:58 ,61:60 (37.),61:64 (38.), 65:64 (39.) and 65:66 (40.), it was Rome that had the luck on its side.
