Signatures made on the way back from Cup-defeat
Captain Michael Paye will continue to play for RSV in the next season. The 33-year-old US-American also set a definite signal with his signature, as he signed his new contract on the way back from the lost Cup Final in Elxleben.
Paye came to Hesse in 2006, straight from the University of Texas Arlington, and will now start his eleventh season with the dethroned German Cup winners. The US-National Player, preparing to medal in Rio with his team, came to RSV as a diamond in the rough, turning from College Player of the Year to World Class Player. He won the EuroCup three times with his team, in 2010, 2012, and 2015, and has been Captain since 2012.
Married to a German and at home in Middle Hesse, Paye is a firm rock at RSV Lahn-Dill "I'm happy to stay part of the team in the future, there were few alternatives for me, I feel more than comfortable where I am." said the friendly athlete about his new contract until summer 2017. "I have to think year by year now, especially the tough summer ahead will take its toll, but I'm ready for the challenge."
RSV Lahn-Dill are super happy about the prolonged contract: "Michael is a great Captain, who knows to lead his team on and especially off court. RSV is greatly influenced by him, and we're excited to have him for another year." says RSV-manager Andreas Joneck.
