RSV-centre gets international license
Only 48 hours before the start of the IWBF EuroLeague in Wetzlar RSV-centre David Amend can start looking forward to being part of the team. After being recognised nationally as a player with minimal disability already, he now got the “ok” by the International Wheelchair Basketball Federation and will be able to play internationally in the future.
This means, that the RSV-coaches Nicolai Zeltinger and Ralf Neumann will have twelve players for the upcoming tournament on Friday and Saturday against Hyères, Padua, Sassari and Wolverhampton. Only long-term injured Thomas Gundert, who will have to undergo more surgery on Thursday, won’t be part of the squad of the five-fold Champions League winners from Wetzlar.
The IWBF EuroLeague will start for RSV Lahn-Dill on Friday at 15:45 against French team Hyères Handi Basket. Friday night at 20:15 they will be playing against Padua Millenium Basket and the first RSV-game on Saturday will be against GSD Anmic Sassari at 15:00. Their last game will take place at 19:30 Saturday evening against Wolverhampton Rhinos.
