20-year-old talent changes from second division team Ulm
National player Annabel Breuer joins RSV Lahn-Dill completely for the upcoming season, after already having played for the ten-time German champion since getting her double-license in December 2012. The Gold-medallist at the London Paralympics has been playing for second-league-team Ulm Sabres and will move to Middle Hesse after her final school examinations and the European Championship in Frankfurt, which will take place from the 28th of June until the 7th of July.
“Annabel is a great talent and has already proven herself during the final stage of the Champions Cup in Valladolid. I’m sure she will be a great addition to our team.” says Coach Nicolai Zeltinger. “Now we have nearly completed our squad after Gesche Schuenemann leaving the team, and following our tradition we still bank on continuity.” adds team manager Andreas Joneck.
The National player originally from Tuebingen has played for SKV Ravensburg prior to her engagement with Ulm. The wing player has won two European titles, silver at the Worlds and last September Gold in London with her National team. Her 1.5-classification also gives RSV great opportunities for personnel variations on court.
Annabel Breuer is just as happy about her move to the double-winner of the past German season: “I’m really looking forward to this new phase of my life, and starting it with RSV. There’s a great atmosphere in the team, and I’m glad to become a part of that. Athletically I want to advance and make the most of my potential.” Apart from the gym Annabel will be spending her time being a student at Giessen’s Justus-Liebig-University: “It will be either psychology or Exercise and Health.”
