Senior players prolongue their contracts with RSV
Both most senior RSV-players have signed their new contracts for the upcoming season with the ten-time German champion RSV Lahn-Dill. Forward Thomas Gundert and centre Dirk Koehler will therefore start their eleventh and 21st season respectively. The club traditionally counts on continuity and with these two signatures the squad is nearly complete for the first game on the 28th of September.
Dirk Koehler has been with the club since 1992 and was part of every won title so far, and season 2013/2014 will be his 21st. “During last season Dirk has shown again, that he still is a very important player for this young team. We’re very happy he has signed with us again.” says coach Nicolai Zeltinger. With over 5.000 points and more than 400 games RSV’s number 15 is second to none. And with Thomas Gundert another long-term player, who has been with the club since 2003, stays with the club.
After Dirk Koehler „Gun“ is the most senior player wearing the RSV-kit. The 3o-year-old forward can look back onto 24 titles, but certainly has not had enough yet: “I still want to contribute to our success in the future and am happy to be playing in Wetzlar next season.”
