Perfect start into Champions-League – 83:73 win against spanish team
After beating Fundacion Norte Valladolid it is possible to make a big step tonight at 8:15pm against Lottomatica Rome towards the semifinal
Fundacion Norte Valladolid – RSV Lahn-Dill 73:83 (16:23/28:44/44:62)
By the time Valladoid lead 8:2 after three minutes the first worried faces could be found among the 200 fans from Wetzlar. But the first timeout by Coach Zeltinger was followed by a strong first half from his team. Especially Michael Paye was unstoppable for the Spanish defense during this time of the game.
During the seond half RSV Lahn-Dill was not only able to defend the lead but also it was for example Steve Serio´s extraordinary scoring for the 60:40 (27.) that caused a lot of applause from the fans of both teams. At the end of the game it was altogether a safe win for Wetzlar and it was Dirk Köhler with a "double-double" (21 points and 13 rebounds)who set a personal mark.
