Captain Joey Johnson stays with RSV Lahn-Dill

35-year old Canadian signs at first a contract until November 30th 2011

After winning the double of German Championship and the German Cup-Final, RSV Lahn-Dill announces another good news for the club: Captain Joey Johnson signs a new contract and will start the next season again in Wetzlar´s jersey. Johnson is planning to end his career as a player after the Paralympic Games in London 2012.

This step was not safe at all for a long time since Lahn-Dill´s main sponsor STADA Arnzneimittel AG will reduce its financial engagement next season after 16 years. Manager Andreas Joneck sees this as a comprehensible step for them but also as a new challenge for RSV Lahn-Dill that brought up the situation that Wetzlar offered Johnson by now a contract until November 30th 2011. Joey Johnson, who did not hesitate to agree with this offer, has now the chance to join another team at the end of the year, but everybody at Lahn-Dill is positive in believing that there will be means to renew the contract with Johnson in November until the end of the season.
