Cooperation with Team Naunheim for the “Wings for Life World Run”
In cooperation with RSV Lahn-Dill e.V. and the city of Wetzlar, Team Naunheim SPORT has launched the Run & Roll Buddies and wants to compete with them at the Wings for Life World Run in Munich at the beginning of May.
The Run & Roll Buddies are teams of two, each consisting of a runner and a wheelchair user. In the run-up to the run in the Bavarian capital, of course, joint training sessions in the Wetzlar Stadium are on the preparation program.
The Wings for Life World Run has been a charity run that has been held annually since 2014 in over 30 countries and on all continents worldwide with the motto “Running for those who cannot walk”. Already in the first year, 35,000 runners took part and a donation of three million euros was collected. By 2021, the number of participants had grown continuously to over 184,000.
Behind the run is the Wings for Life Foundation from Salzburg, Austria, which is dedicated to spinal cord research and a possible cure for spinal cord injuries in the future. Accordingly, one hundred percent of all entry fees for the run, plus sponsor income, go to the foundation founded 18 years ago. The foundation’s ambassadors include numerous international celebrities, including athletes such as the 42-time Danish-Dutch surfing world champion Björn Dunkerbeck, the former British Formula 1 driver David Coulthard and the American ski racer Lindsey Vonn.
If you want to be part of the Wings for Life World Run on May 8 in Munich and become a Run & Roll Buddy, you can register here until February 28. Team Naunheim, the city of Wetzlar as co-partner and RSV Lahn-Dill are happy about every participant for this extraordinary popular run.
