77:52 win against hosting team HamburgTitle defendants RSV Lahn-Dill have won their twelfth cup final, this time against Hamburg, 77:52 (19:13/36:25/55:35). Responsible for getting the 12th cup home were Michael Paye, Steve Serio and Thomas Boehme. “We stuck to our game plan and showed that we were able to adapt to new situations. We feel perfectly happy in the role of the hunted” said a very happy Nicolai Zeltinger after the game before him and assistant coach Ralf Neumann could accept the DRS-cup in front of around 150 fans who travelled with their team. The fans had watched a game in which their team dominated from the 10:9 score (7th min). Same as the day before this was down to a brilliantly functioning defence that kept Hamburg’s trio Reo Fujimoto, Hiroaki Kozai and Mustafa Korkmaz at bay. After the day before had been a tough one, Nicolai Zeltinger rotated the players more, giving Centre Joe Bestwick (29:20, 16th min) and Jan Haller with a three-point-play (32:20, 17th min) a chance to shine. After changeover the game was nearly done early after two threes within 39 minutes by Captain Paye and Boehme, leading to 55:35 (29th min). In the end RSV received well deserved congratulations for their twelfth cup-triumph as well as their 30th title.
