The former rumour that has been spread eight weeks ago by Wetzlarer Neue Zeitung has now become reality. US-national-player Steve Serio will return to RSV Lahn-Dill, and the team for the season 2013/2014 is now complete. The 25-year-old guard player has already played for RSV from 2010 until 2012, and in his first year won the German Cup and the German Championship with his team, topped off with the World Cup. In 2011/2012 they won the triple consisting of Championship, German and Champions Cup. Additionally New Yorker Serio was nominated MVP in the final round of Champions Cup in Istanbul. He scored 990 points in 62 games for his Wetzlar team. After the London Paralympics, where he won Bronze for the USA, Serio returned back home to continue studying, whilst playing for Indiana Pacers in the NWBA, who finished second in the league. Now he will return to his former athletic home, to a place, where he celebrated his biggest successes. Steve is said to be the best 3,5-player worldwide and opens up great new opportunities for different line-ups next season.
As well as Serio, Marco Zwerger will stay with his club next season. It will be the tenth season for the 34-year-old guard, in which he was able to get 21 titles.
The squad for the season 2013/2014: Christopher Huber, Bjoern Lohmann, Annabel Breuer, Thomas Gundert, Jan Haller, Marco Zwerger, Michael Paye (Captain), Thomas Boehme, Steve Serio, Dirk Koehler, Felix Schell, Joe Bestwick und David Amend.
