RSV Lahn-Dill doesn’t want to let anything scorch in Munich

USC München more dangerous than it’s spot in the table lets assume

This Saturday RSV Lahn-Dill will be travelling to Munich for their first game in the second round against the RSC, who had a moved season so far. At 5 o’clock a duel between the two most successful German teams will take place in the Sporthalle at Saebener Strasse.

After a disappointing start and an early end in the DRS Cup the Munich team separated from Trainer Tamer Artan and had a new start after the sixth game day. One of five losses this season was brought to them by RSV Lahn-Dill, who defeated the southern German team at home in Wetzlar 85:32 and in the DRS Cup in Heidelberg 74:53.

But since the 8th of November the German Record-Champion, who have won the title 13 times, seems to have found their way back into the game. Last prove of this was the home-victory over Playoff-candidate Frankfurt, emphasizing Nicolai Zeltinger’s thesis: “Munich are very dangerous opponents, who are a lot stronger on a good day than their spot in the league lets assume. Additionally the game this weekend will be a dress rehearsal for the big home-game against team Thueringen, another reason to get into this game with great concentration.”

Almost exactly a year ago the Middle-Hesse team had to swallow a very bitter pill against USC Muenchen at home. There is no other team that the RSV played against as often as they did against Munich. In over-all 54 games RSV defeated the Bavarians 38 times.

Michael Paye & Co are hoping to achieve win number 39 this weekend and know they have to watch most of all Ben Doering and Benjamin Ryklin, who together have been averaging 32,8 points per game. In this third game in only three months Coaching Duo Nicolai Zeltinger and Ralf Neumann will be able to use National Player Thomas Boehme, who wasn’t able to join into the game last weekend in Cologne due to a hand-injury. Not able to play this weekend in the south will be Davif Amend, Christopher Huber and Marco Zwerger, who are playing with the second team against SGK Heidelberg.
