83:54-Erfolg Semifinal-win at Bonn – Strong last quarter
RSV Lahn-Dill allows itself to look forward to another "big day" at the Rittal Arena. A 83:54 (16:9/32:25/54:42)-win at ASV Bonn in the first semifinal-game opened the door widely to another dream-final against Zwickau who won its semifinal-game at Munich. If it all will come out as it can be expected after yesterday´s games, the deciding game of the german championship will be played at the Rittal Arena at Wetzlar on April 17th, where both teams played last fall in front of a crowd of fans that was hardly seen before at a wheelchair-basketball game.
At Bonn the RSV began strong and was quickly leading the match with 26:11 (14.) before the ASV Bonn came back during the third quarter and cut the Wetzlar-lead down to a 42:46 (28.). The time-out speech of RSV coach Nicolai Zentinger couldn´t be more clear for his team, that scored a 8:0 run in the last two minutes of the quarter.
What followed now was nearly an overrun by the team from Wetzlar that made clear who was the team that wants back the championship this year: RSV Lahn-Dill won at Bonn by 83:54 and is settled for the games to come.
Before Bonn will be at Wetzlar for the second semifinal game on April 3rd the final-four tournament for the german cup will send the defending team from Wetzlar to Zwickau next weekend for maybe the first showdown between the two top-favourite teams in german wheelchair-basketball.
