RSV Lahn-Dill second in european team-ranking this year

RSV Lahn-Dill best german team in Europe
The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF Europe) just published their latest Team-Ranking. Depending on its success and the European contests it was playing, each team that participated in one of the different European cup challenges during the last three years gets a certain amount of points.
In this ranking the three-time winner of the European Champions-Cup RSV Lahn-Dill is second to the leading team of the 2009 European champion Galatasaray Istanbul.
Not only that the team from Wetzlar is the best-seated german team in Europe, but finds itself in the European "Top-Ten" consecutively since 2005. There was never a higher seated team from Germany in Europe yet than the RSV Lahn-Dill who won the Willi-Brinkmann-Cup in 2002 and the Champions-League three times in a row from 2004 to 2006.
Behind the two leading teams from Istanbul (188 points) and Wetzlar (184 points) is a large gap until the teams from Sevilla (154) and Madrid (153) follow third and fourth. Best Italian team from the highly praised Seria A is the fifth-seated Team from Santa Lucia Rom (152). The German teams from Zwickau (145) and Bonn (92) follow at spot 7 and 19.
Although the RSV Lahn-Dill couldn´t make the final-game of the Champions-Cup this year, which was the first time in the last five years, this IWBF-Ranking proves the continuing success of the Wetzlar Wheelchair-Basketball story.
